This hopper pattern was designed by Northern California guide and fly fishing videographer, Mikey Wier.  It is a split leg design that takes trout anywhere that has an appetite for a huge protein source.  This fly was tested in the high Sierras on the East Fork of the Carson River.

 

Mikey designed this fly to float high in all types of conditions.  Fish it in fast water.  Fish it in slow water.  When your favorite deer hair bugs are sinking, the Whopper will keep floating.
